Gekås in Ullared, with more than 35,000 square metres of store area, is Scandinavia’s largest department store and also Sweden’s largest tourist attraction, with four and a half million visitors every year.
The size of the business places high requirements on efficient logistics and intelligent warehouse management solutions. To facilitate working with large volumes of films and computer games, a Compact Twin has been installed which towers over several floors. Films and games are loaded into the vertical storage lift on the top floor and are picked out at store level, on the floor below. The result is faster, more efficient handling, with considerably less manual work.
