At the Automation Department, in Longva in Norway, ergonomic automation systems are designed for the control and monitoring of equipment and machinery for ships. Complying with requirements for high levels of service, operational reliability and good quality, seven vertical storage lifts 5 metres high and occupying 32 square metres have been installed, which has resulted in an optimally organised area. A shelf system for storage of small goods would have required at least 250m2 storage area.
